Make a rustic rag garland - Petticoat Junktion

When working with rustic decorating, wood appears to be predominate. Adding a rag garland to the mix is the perfect way to soften up those straight lines!

Kathy went through her own personal stash of fabric scraps (click her tutorial below to find out what she all used), then tied them to a piece of jute string.

This is the reason I horde, friends! Anything can be used for anything and this is the perfect example.

What I love about this:

When you decorate rustic style, there aren't many traditional window treatments that chime in with that look. This rag styled garland could easily be used for the coolest window valance ever! Or a garland on an old door headboard. Front door perhaps? How about a fringe around a table top? Etc etc. I'm sold.
