Bottle and mason jar revamps with sisal and burlap - The Happy Housie

Sisal and burlap touches on plain mason jars and vintage milk bottles, by The Happy Housie, featured on I Love That Junk. Very sweet and simple!

Adding a little sisal and burlap to otherwise plain jars or bottles can really ramp up a summer centrepiece!

Krista as accumulated quite a collection of vintage milk bottles from garage sales. And mason jars easily found most anywhere.

For the milk bottle, she chose to use hot glue so the sisal could be removed when she changed her mind. ( I hear ya, girl! ) For the mason jar, she created a burlap rose to adorn an additional patch of burlap. (rose tutorial in blog link below)

What I LOVE about this:

Clear jar vases allow the flowers to take centre stage. However the small touches of sisal and burlap add an instant summer vibe, as well as offer a little rustic twist on something otherwise elegant. It's a little unexpected without being over the top.
