Crystal salt and pepper shaker Christmas ornament - Organized Clutter

Crystal salt and pepper shaker Christmas ornament - Organized Clutter

When I first glanced at this project, I thought it was a pretty vintage decoration. Upon closer inspection, I was floored that it was actually a crystal salt and pepper shaker Christmas ornament!

Carlene had this cute little salt and pepper shaker set, complete with it's own silver tray for nearly a year parked in a consignment shop. It didn't sell, so home it came.

How she put this idea together I have no idea, but it's brilliant. Holes were drilled, a crystal prism and ribbon attached, and then the salt and pepper shakers were next. Carlene describes how she put it all together in her post. (link below)

What a clever, sweet project that resembles an icy winter wonderland! And all it took was a lonely little salt and pepper shaker that refused to sell. It's my guess they'll be selling like hotcakes now!

  1. I seriously just saw one of those exact little sets, along with it's tray, in an antique store just today! And I passed it by as nothing I could do anything with! Darn it!

  2. I seriously just saw that same exact salt and pepper set, with it's tray, in an antique store just today! And I passed it on by, thinking there was nothing really I could do with it. Darn it!

  3. I think I would hang the tray seperate, maybe put a Christmas picture in it (say a Currier and Ives cut out from a magazine?) and make it a frame. The crystal salt servers would show up better alone I think. The top server could hold a little nicely scented essentil oil and make your tree smell divine! (Especially if it's an artificial tree!) I inherited a set of salt and pepper servers! Going on my tree!! Thx!
