Build a new AND old DIY potting bench - Design Dreams by Anne

Building your own potting bench may seem like a daunting task... but this bench intrigues me. While it's a new build, it incorporates old touches, giving you the best of both worlds.

Anne brought her old potting bench into the house (sounds like something I would do) so she had a need to build another for outside.

What I love about this design is her incorporation of some old relics, such as an old window frame, metal panels, and thrifted pieces for the finish.

What I love about this:

The mix of old and new intrigues me! Let's face it... working with salvaged wood isn't always easy. It's hard to find the right sized boards for everything, and then a tight fit is always a concern with wood that doesn't have straight edges. Anne removed the hard, fiddly part of all that by using new materials, while incorporating reclaimed touches. And if you want the new to look old, paint and distress it! Genius.

I love her advice on placing the structure in it's final spot before completing the build. Yes... do that!

While Anne claims this isn't the easiest build in the world, she breaks it down into do-able chunks you could easily modify to suit.
